Featured – Caspa & Rusko

IDubstep listeners know, Rusko is friendly with the underground scene. If you really don’t listen to the one and only Caspa you probably do not love Dubstep. After featuring an ever growing series of tour periods taking himthem to every corner of the planet they still finds time to hostplay a twice monthly night at the one and only Fabric. Not content with running 3 labels , producing dancefloor bomb after dancefloor bomb and the acclaimed album ‘Everybody’s Talking, Nobody’s Listening’, his remix skills in the genre of melodic dubstep are in higher demand than ever, remixing for the likes of Depeche Mode and Adam F & Horx feat Method Man to name a couple.

Want the Biography of Caspa and Rusko?…

Growing up in West London on a diet of Jungle and Hip Hop

In 2003, under the pseudonym Quiet Storm, the track ‘Bass Bins’ was picked up by BBC 1xtra’s J Da Flex and things started to snowball. Founding his own label Storming Productions in 2004, Caspa also began a weekly radio show on the iconic Rinse FM. Signing up and working with the likes of Search & Destroy, Dubchild, Toasty Boy, DJ Narrows and Oris Jay the label soon became established as one of the dominating underground labels of the time.

Amidst the ever growing hype, Caspa and fellow label artist Rusko were approached by Fabric to mix the 37th instalment of the legendary FabricLive series. Following on from such legends as John Peel and Fabio & Grooverider, this was the first commercially available dubstep compilation and played a significant part in bringing the genre into the limelight and introducing it to many new listeners worldwide. His anthemic remix of TC’s ‘Where’s My Money’ pushed things even further and his mix on Deadmau5 and Kaskade ‘I Remember’ further still.

What’s next for Caspa and Rusko?….

Looking for new Caspa and Rusko tracks? Expect remixes of Ludacris’ forthcoming ‘How Low’ and ‘Hurricane’ by Jared Leto’s 30 Seconds to Mars. Production collabs with Benga, Deadmau5, Diane Charlemagne and Subscape are also on the cards for the not too distant future whilst this year promises to be another festival frenzy with multiple international dates already secured including Bestival in the UK, Beyond Wonderland in California and Sonar in Spain to name but three.

Florence and the Machine New Album Review

Florence and the Machine

Florence And The Machine
lead singer Florence Welch has said she has finally taken to science to influence the path of the band’s next album.

Florence and the Machine told NME that the band is currently attempting to create new material, and that one new song, ‘Cosmic Love‘, is about a scientific teaching that her dad had once told her.

My father was telling me about strangeness and charm Welch said. “It’s actually the name of the two atoms that created are when you split the atom, so I wrote a song around it. I even managed to fit the word ‘hydrogen’ in there. Isn’t that a nice thing for scientists to call them though? – it’s so unscientific and human.” All of Florence and the machine’s lyrics are odd as seen in Cosmic Love Lyrics and other songs. They are also quite similar to Marina and the Diamonds

Speaking of the style she is trying to create on the next up to 2009 debut ‘Lungs’, Welch explained that she’s started writing songs on the guitar again, as she did on debut single ‘Kiss With A Fist’. She also met with Ellie Goulding, hopefully and Marina and the Diamonds they will perform together. Underground Music Blog

“It’s not a ‘Kiss With A Fist’ type of guitar sound though… it’s much stranger than that.” she jested.

In other interviews, Welch stated that despite the accomplished feel of ‘Lungs’, they are not feeling the pressure in terms of creating the new album.

Whereas the first one was really scary. The next year is really just Florence and the Machine continuing further and attempting to create something new and fresh. It’s like, you get given a clean slate to do whatever you want, so what isn’t there to like about that?

Ever since her new track Florence and the Machine – You’ve Got the Love she has increasingly very wanted as an artist. You can watch some Florence and the Machine videos at Vault FM
